Areas of expertise
EVA is specialised in four main areas of research. In total, it has some seventy researchers, doctoral students, engineers, technicians and trainees to conduct its numerous research projects.
EVA now has multidisciplinary teams recognised at international level in the following fields:
- sustainable management of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems: ecology, eco-toxicology, microbiology, eco-technologies, nature conservation, biodiversity
- the application of bio-technologies in the fields of agricultural, viticultural, horticultural and forestry production: plant biology, integrated agriculture, preservation of genetic resources, phytopathology, production of molecules of bio-medical and nutritional interest, renewable energies
- sustainable land-use management: hydroclimatology, bioclimatology, climate change, natural hazards, remote sensing, environmental modelling, hydrogeochemistry, and water, soil and air pollution
- nutrition and toxicology: food safety, nutritional quality, food science and technology, bioavailability, environmental toxicology, and public health
